Born in 1930 in Beach Grove, Indiana, Steeve McQueen began his Broadway career in 1955. He made a brief film appearance in "Marked by Hatred" (1956) and then won the role of Josh Marshall in the television series "In the Name of the Law" (1958 to 1961) which propelled him to the rank of star. He played his first major role in film in 1958 and quickly became one of the most coveted Hollywood actors with such mythical films as "The Seven Mercenaries" (1960), "The Thomas Crown Affair" (1968), "Bullitt" (1968), "Butterfly" (1975) or "The Hell Tower" (1974).
