Resume Peaky Blinder

The relative confidentiality of Peaky Blinders remains a mystery. Because this series of English gangsters is a bomb.

Finally the continuation of the Shelby family's irresistible rise! We had left Thomas pardoned by Churchill, we find him again, prosperous, in 1924. The whole clan gathered in Birmingham from the outset to celebrate Tommy and Grace's wedding... The clan's culture clash was set to begin between the two tribes, the military with its British distinction and the wealthy con artists. To inaugurate a story of thugs through marriage, from The Godfather, is to set the bar high... And it is a challenge brilliantly met by Steven Knight. What a scene! From the outset, the tensions radiate, the pieces are set up, the new narrative arcs of the season are set up in submarines. Peaky Blinders' hell train is launched, we're boarding, fast! And we also follow the course of history.
If the post-war period and the Irish independence movements had previously formed the backdrop, here the intrigues are becoming more international. Thomas finds himself at the heart of European politics (in spite of himself), embarked on manoeuvres and secret societies fighting against communist Russia. While having to manage his life as a couple, the excesses of his family, the Italian mafia, the traffic of alcohol to America of prohibition... The menu of the newlyweds is copious! But certainly not indigestible for us, delighted, captivated and fascinated viewers. Great art from start to finish, with a special mention for Cillian Murphy's performance (Thomas, seen in 28 days later and Inception) and the great soundtrack, which sticks PJ Harvey, Nick Cave or the Arctics Monkeys to the Roaring Twenties!
