Born on January 19, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky, Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr., better known as Mohamed Ali, is an American boxer. He excelled in his sport and was, on several occasions, crowned world champion.
Classified in the heavyweight category, it has been a success after success. February 25, 1964 was a key date in his career. He won the fight against the legendary Sunny Liston, the champion of the title, whom everyone thought was invincible. He became world champion in the heavyweight category. In 1996 and 2012, he participated in the opening ceremonies of the Atlanta and London Olympic Games. In 2001, American director Michael Kenneth Mann directed the biopic "Ali", with Will Smith in the title role. He died on June 3, 2016, following respiratory problems.
